Taking it to the dealer does get it fixed thats true. Only problem, the new pump that they will install will have a plastic impeller. The same thing just happened to me last weekend.... after looking up in the old forum's discovered that Dura Pro water pumps seem to be the best application. Their impeller is not plastic, and after spinning both, Dura Pro also seemed stronger as far as how the bearings reacted to friction...

I am not a mechanic.. just wanted to offer my two cents worth..

I bought the pump which came with a gasket, some antifreeze, and gasket sealer for 86.39 at my local Napa Auto Parts. Labor took me about 2.5 hours.
"Friendly tip-- when putting the thermostat back in, gasket goes in front"
