Did you have to drill the splitter to attach it?

Not sure yet. I'm going to check into the price for both materials in a couple of different thicknesses and see which one seems most reasonable.
I'm going to need a couple of days though, I'm graduating tomorrow and moving back to Detroit on Sunday so I'm a little short on time.
I'm hoping by the end of next week I should be able to get a solid price on materials and can estimate what it will cost to make and ship.

I really didnt want anything that would stick out further than the splitter, that's why we made it flush w/ the lower lip. I really didn't want to rip the whole thing off, especially living in PA w/ all the hills!! I still have the template and am thinking about making a few more...not only for myself, but for those who need some as well. I'll try to fit as many as I can on one 4x10 sheet of aluminum, since its not my aluminum, it my pop's. I wont be back home for another week so drop me some email or pm me if your interested.....i'll figure out prices when i get back home.

What about an ABS plastic? I was at a local shop last month, looking into the 1/4" ABS plastic as a possibility for a splitter lip/skid plate.

You cannot see it at all from any angle. It really depends where you put the holes to pop rivit or screw it in. I put them so you can't see it... I mean you can make it so sticks out just by moving the skid plate out a little further and then drilling it. I personally don't reccomend it because your just asking for it to catch on something and do some damage. my .02
