Would your work be any more quality if someone else was president?? I doubt it. This study is more interested in the vehicle than the stock price. Anyway, I looked at some of the old rankings, and the graph was not at all the same, so it's hard to compare. Toyota did have some top spots for quality, but chevy and Ford did, too.
If the President is slashing costs to the point where the raw materials are shoddy, cough:plastic water pump impellers:cough, then yeah, my work is impacted.

I think Ford improved 5-6% over last year.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you meant by that, but loosely translated, it means that if 100 cars each have 1 problem, then there are 100 problems per 100 cars. The 225 figure for the H2 means that each vehicle has 22.5 problems. (225 problems/100 vehicles=22.5 problems/vehicle)

Don't you mean 2.25 problems/vehicle ??
IIRC, one of these "problems" was "poor gas milege". Well, whaddya know !! This behemoth doesn't get 40 to the gallon ! Who would have thought it ! I'm shocked ! [/sarcasm]

The 2003 Initial Quality Study is based on responses from more than 52,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2003 model-year cars and trucks who were surveyed after 90 days of ownership.
So it's really only short term and relies on the dealer quite a bit.
