I have a hynes manual and I can't seem to get any readout from my volt meter. I put it in the OHMs selection, followed the haynes directions and I get no readings. I even tested the new nuehoff one and I get nothing.

Anyone with a experience on this matter?

This is off of a duratech 3.0 DOHC.

Thanks

If your coil tests fine, could I have it?
Hehe... anyway, if you need to replace your coil and find more than 1 for a good price, could you PM me with details?
Looks like I need one

I dont know if the duratec 3.0 uses the same coil. But I got a good niehoff one for 82 bucks, the autozone brand one was 50 but I heard bad stuff about those.

The 3.0 misses a whole lot and it could be the wires, plugs, coil, and who knows what. As of right now I can get in 4th OD because the dealer said it doesn't have enough power to shift into 4th. Thank god it wasn't the tranny.

good luck

Sounds like you are having trouble using you ohm meter. Does the meter ??zero? when you touch the two probes together? Did you set it for the correct range?

How many ohms are you trying to measure?

Jeff

have you fixed your ford lately?

This might sound dumb but?... this was jsut happening to me and i also thought it might be the coil pack going bad. Guess what the next day when i ordered the coil i gota code 216. Keep in mind i have a 95 contour and obd1 suxs. So i was like ok fine new coil problem solved. A friend told me to check the harness that comes from the coil pack and plugs into the pcm and guess what it was loose. So loose that i could jsut pull it out with no force. The clip was broken probaly during my engine upgrade thus leading me to beilve my coil pack was going bad. Check the harness unplug them all and replug them togetther. If that doesn' solve ur problem then maybe it truly is the coil pack gone south. The harness is located near the power steering pump and the fuel rail? ur'll see 3 harnesses together

good luck
