Other than older "muscle car" guys that'd build up just to dump N2O into their cars, the only others I've seen use N2O is the ricers. A riced out, but oh-so stock Neon or a 4 door Civic dumping it until they destroy their car

No offense was taken because I know too many people that spout off about the wonders of N2O because they've watched "The Fast And The Furious" too much and base much of their car knowledge off of it. Just don't try to put me in that category, and we'll be fine

I just need to read up a bit about N2O to obtain an actual opinion on it.

Well tomorrow I should have it out of the car and the tear down complete. I just have to unhook the shifter linkage and the lower 2 motor mounts to pull it all out.

I just about started to rip out my A/C, but I had to stop myself. I pictured a road trip to Vegas and knew I'd be going insane by St.George with no A/C Then again, it would clear up a ton of clutter and free up some power.......

You know what, I was thinking about people putting n2o in cars and remembered some people over at Tempo Topaz were going to put like 50 shots in just for some added and needed umpf. Might be worth a gander to see if you wanna get a little extra power.

If I find a better source for cryo treatment for the all of the internals, then I'd easily run a 50-75 shot. Looks like it is time to do some research on n2o...... after I'm done rebuilding

Ah ha! Once I have a crank pulley remover I can fully tear down my engine I had it torn down as far as I could go yesterday. I've been getting a bunch of parts, so hopefully I can have this 2.5L ready by the time the transmission is done.

I am going to have the crank machined just to play it safe. I'm also going to have the block dipped and take care of any possible machine work now. Then the crank, rods, pistons, flywheel and a new pressure plate are off for cryo treatment

I think rather then a 3L later on, I'll be getting a turbo instead. With that in mind, 3L valves are going into the heads along with ARP main and head studs are being added to the "Things to get" list this month. Apexi SAFC II, Pro-M MAF, Koni's w/DZ -1.8" springs, fresh bushings all around and slotted rotors and new pads will also go on the list now the 3L project is abandoned All of that teamed with a fresh transmission from HMS to top it all off.

I'll be pretty busy in the next month or so

It would be cool if you could take the car to a dyno before you threw the turbo on so we can see what a 2.5L with 3L valves will do.

I plan on hitting the dyno as soon as I finish installing everything to tune it in, so I'll post the results. I won't be able to get the turbo for a year or a tad less... But I should have plenty of power until then....

Check out the 3L Forum or do a search. There is a ton of info on how to do it, what you'll need and there are even some that will do it all for you (PM Buckshot77 about having a 3L installed. Very fair prices, and he seems to have a good head on his shoulders.)

Ouch.....I just ordered everything except for the bearings (gotta hold off until I get my machine work done). This should be fun, it'll be like a personal Xmas via mail.

Wow...I can't wait to see what it'll do. Good luck, and keep us posted!
BTW, I think nitrous is a good bang for the buck, but I think I'd rather not go down that road. I'd personally like to have a superduperbad@ss N/A car. For me, that'd take some serious amounts of time, money, and learning more about engines!
