Yup, I've read the how-to. But I still have a couple questions. 1) I don't need to pull the EGR off, do I? The gasket is 2$, so it's not a big deal, but if I don't have to do it, I don't want to. 2) I plan to pull the LIM off, too. Will I need to pull the injectors or not? Maybe I'm just tired, but it seems to me that I could just pull the LIM and leave the injectors on. In other words, I'd like to order some gaskets asap, and I don't want to get halfway through the job and say "Oh crap, I NEED injector O rings, fuel rail gaskets, and IMRC grommets." So far, this is what I think I need to do the job: * IAC gasket (need to clean the IAC cause of idle probs) * UIM/LIM gasket set * I think I'll get the motorcraft PCV valve, too (1 or 2?) Thanks in advance.

just went through this myself
figured there is too many little things that coul break here and there i dont wana replace
but from what svtcanuck told me you dont need to touch the o rings or injectors
the UIM and LIM gaskets are reuseable, but are worth about 60$ Canadian for a new set
i didnt bother to go thru with it, seems like its going to cost to much in little problems to go along with it than its worth right now

Dangit! I don't need to be detered any longer! I've put it off too long already! Ford Parts Online has these: * PCV VALVE, 2.5L * MANIFOLD GASKET, Contour, Mystique, 2.5L, Lower 1995 - 2000 * GASKET - INTAKE MANIFOLD - UPP * Emission System, Emission Components, Idle Valve, Gasket, 2.5 Liter The "GASKET - INTAKE MANIFOLD - UPP" is ~$6. Is that right? I think I'll get a TB gasket, too.

You can just unbolt the EGR valve and leave it be. Just use a new gasket when you re-install the UIM.
The injectors come right out and my o-rings were still in good shape at about 75K on them. It's easier and better to clean the LIM with the injectors and fuel rail taken off. When you opt. your LIM, hose the screws down with WD40 or something to make it easier.

You might as well pull the injectors and change the O-Rings while you are in there; especially if you are pulling the LIM.
We just unbolted the EGR and left it hanging and replaced the gasket when putting everything back together.

Thanks. I'll get a new EGR gasket. $2 means not having to do it again (hopefully). One person says O rings were ok at 75K, and another say replace the O rings.

A couple of my O-Rings needed to be replaced and I have 69,400 on the clock.

Would these be the "nose o-rings" or the "upper injector o-rings?"

I found an injector O ring set but CSK Auto doesn't stock 'em. I'm having a hell of a time getting Fel-Pro 61006 (TB gasket). I can find it, but it doesn't want to be added to my cart!

Nose O-Rings. A couple were in less than pristine condition.
