'95 tour se mtx 160,000 with traction control

I was on my way to my new job to fill out some paperwork and as soon as I got off the highway the tour started acting up again... The rpms would rise, hang, then fall all while the clutch was pushed in. I thought maybe something was stuck so I was tearing around hoping it would get better... WRONG!

After I did that and came to a stop light the rpms wouldn't come down and were slammed at 7,000 and there was nothing I could do about it... I quickly turned off the car while sitting at the light. I thought I would be able to start it up again with out having that problem. WRONG!

I turned it off again and popped the hood... The TB wouldn't close all the way on its own so I gave it a little nudge. All was fine and I got out of the intersection.

I again drove it like I do all the time (kinda rough) and I noticed when I push the gas in there is a little "tick" feeling after I push the pedal in about 1-2 inches... Only one tick and it seems if I push the pedal in past that "tick" feeling that is when the rpms start to do what they want...

P.S. Traction control works fine and I have replaced the cable between the TC and TB...

Suggestions anyone?
Thanks - JOE
