Yes, I thought of wheel bearings as well, so I switched to my winter tires/wheels and the drone went away.
Yup, I realized that I was giving up something, with the yokos, but I thought it was only performance and treadlife, not roadnoise loud enough to limit conversation. Seems especially strange since others have had such good experience with them...
