Often the main problem is not the pump itself, but rather the flat filter screen on the bottom of the fuel pump module. Try taking the filter off and throwing it away. You don't need it. There is still a conventional sock filter on the inlet pipe to the pump inside the pump module. The flat filter screen is too fine and does not have enough surface area. Check the fuel inside the tank and make sure that it is not contaminated. You just might save yourself the cost of a new pump. If you do end up replacing the pump, throw the filter screen from the new one away.
