From the manual it seems that to remove outer pass side shaft no need to remove Intermediate Halfshaft Bearing and Shield, it's held in place by the usual circlip. Shield would have to be unfastened from support bracket only to remove intermediate shaft.

Bearing/shield fastened to support bracket by 2 nuts, bracket to engine by 3 bolts. Two pairs of holes in bearing/shield, closest to engine of each pair for atx, furthest for mtx.

That is what I was talking about. I removed the two shafts as one piece with the bearing attached, and had no problems.

Which portion is still attached? the shaft into the transaxle or the shaft into the hub? Terry is the man to talk to.

The shaft onto the trans is still attached. When the ball joint broke it pulled the driveahsft out of it joint which is attached to the drive shaft going into the trans. I have the drive shaft that goes to the hub out but there is still a piece of it stuck to the driveshaft that goes to the trans. ill tke pics tonight so I can show everyone what i am talking about.

Thanks for eveyones help,
Pete

The inner tripod can be driven off the jack shaft with a block of wood. You will need new clips and/or boot kit to reassemble the inner joint correctly.Once it is together use zip ties to stop it slipping apart before re assembly....
