This thread should be locked probably, but since you have insulted my country, I feel obligated to weigh in. Sorry idf this is a bit long.

I will ask the same questions that the Democrats should ask next election: Yes, the people of Iraq now have a better life, but what about the people of America?

Where is the evidence that Saddam Hussein has weapons of mass destruction (One joke is "we (the US Government) know he has them because we have the receipts from when we sold them to him)? And where is he?

Where is Bin Laden? Wasn't he a priority a little while ago? HE's the one who ordered the destruction of American landmarks and the deaths of Americans, not Saddam Hussein.

Why is it that UN inspectors get a couple of months to find WMD, but Ari Fleischer is going on about how the search is "not a short process?" Seems Hans Blix may have been right when he called the US intelligence on the issue "garbage."

Will there be any credibility to anything the US finds?

Why is it only key political contributors are getting the contracts to rebuild Iraq?

I could go on and on but it is really a simple answer: the case was not made before thew UN that this should happen. The UN has a history of inactivity on issues, I'll grant you that point, but they were not inactive here. A resolution was tabled and the issue was debated. They sent the inspectors.

And since you are so big on free speech, why are the Dixie Chicks not allowed to be played on some radio stations? Is it because Natalie Maines excercised her right to free speech? Why was the Bull Durham celebration cancelled at the Baseball Hall of Fame? Because Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon excercised their right to free speech? The list could go on forever.

Don't get me wrong, I support the troops over there who have their orders and are obligated to follow them. But where is the simple horse sense in the Bush administration. His record on ALL issues, from Texas to the White house, is miserable.

And before you say it, our Prime Minister is no great shakes either, but he had the courage to present a dissenting point of view. Given all that the Bush administration has done to anger our government (don't get me started), I wouldn't have gone either.

Canada and the US are historically good friends and trading partners (biggest cross border trade in the world). We won't let one disagreement sour things forever. Let's hope the Bush administration, with it's blatant narrow mindedness and short sightedness, will be mature and put this in the past. Colin Powell has stated publicly that it will. I hope his cohorts are mature enough to do the same.

Notice that I talk about the Bush administration, and not America and Americans? There is a reason. The majority of Americans did not vote for him. Therefore this is not your fault, and I will not paint you with the same brush.

For the record, I agreed with our Prime Minister's decision not to go off half cocked and bome a country on limited proof. Besides, our military is small and desperately under equipped. Why blow billions of dollars to caddy for someone in a fight that has questionable basis? Bin Laden is the bad guy. Why not find him and bring him to trial? The ball, I am afraid, has been dropped.
