How??? Your AC takes power from your engine, requiring it to work harder and burn more gas to get you to driving speed. Opening windows doesn't take any power from engine, unless you have electric windows.

And luckily I don't have leather seats.
Drag. That's the problem with opening the windows. The interior of the car can become a big parachute.
