It sounds like the wiring harness maybe? That was a recall item a while back. You might get lucky and not have to pay for the fix.



Flip, it would help to know more about your car like year, engine, all that sort of stuff. As hetfield pointed out, there was a recall on some model years for the wiring harness. Only way to truly help you know if your car falls into this catagory is if we knew the year.

Have you had any work done to the car recently? It can sometimes help aid in the troubleshooting to know what was done to the car last. If it had to do with messing around with some of the wiring (installing some radio gear or alarm, yada, yada).
