I just put in a Sony HU and bypassed the amp, with a $10 harness. The new HU will put out more power than your old HU and factory amp put together anyways. So there is no need for it. Plus the harness you need for that is about $65. Once you have the right harness, and you may need some speaker wire as well (I did) then the install goes pretty easy. The harness I believe was a 70-5514 to by pass the amp.

Definitely bypass the factory amp...otherwise there is no point in getting a new HU. Crutchfield has the adapter for about $20.

Rip out the amp, stomp on it, and give it back to Ford. Then hook your HU to the speakers. Get 15" subs and cruise threw your neighborhood at night. Just my suggestions.
