Yeah so I always see this stuff on TNN every weekend ,whenever one of the car shows is doing anything involving fluids...I think i've seen it on the speed channel too. So, now that I'm going to have a nice, functioning transmission Iwas wondering if it would be good or not to use this stuff after the break in period? I dunno if they make a MTF but we use ATF in our transmissions anyway.
Also, i've got a new clutch i nthe car now so I was wondering what is the proper way to break it in? Obviously no clutch dumping...but should I keep the car under a certain RPM until the 500 miles are up? No spirited driving I suppose? I'v enever had a car with a new clutch before.

I put my spec 2 in about a week ago and its so smooth. Oh the break in part well you want to put 500 easy miles on meaning no power up shifts like hammering then taking a another gear. I am setting at 350 break in miles on mine right now. After about 150 miles you can accel just do it gradual. Torque will slip the clutch over HP. I have already had mine up to 110 within breakin period and thats ok as long as you gradually build speed. No fast take offs and try not slow the car down with the clutch. Also city driving is good for the break in. the more the clutch can engage and disenagage it will heat up and get past the green stage. Highway driving doesn't do much for breakin. Don't try to drive 500 miles straight or anything periodical cool downs are good. Just use your common sense and you'll be fine.

Put in RP ATF and Fric Mod in my '00 SVT (yes it's a pre Jan-00 tranny, so it came stock with ATF. It does make shifting smoother than Mobil-1, but marginally.

Clutches (except for kevlar it seems) should be broken in as you normally drive around town. Don't beat on it, but don't baby it as you want to let the disc seat under normal driving conditions.

Depends how cold you mean? In Houston, it only gets marginally close to freezing.
It generally behaves the same as any ATF fluid, only a little slicker. I was just reading another thread where DemonSVT is using Redline MTL. he found it to be very similiar the the new Synth Oil Ford is recommending for the new tranny's. It's basically 75w90 synthetic GL-4 oil. GL-5 will destroy your synchro's. Royal Purple has an equivalent called SynchroMax, but I currently can't find anyone local to carry it, unless I order a case.
