As long as you hold this point of view then you're not helping the situation. Giving people the benifit of a doubt is a good start.

Racism = Discrimination or prejudice based on race. If you already have a negative perspective about some one before you even get a chance to interact with them based solely on their race, how they're clothed, or the way they look then it's basically a self-fulfilling prophecy.
