most people get the KKM one, from Kurtz Kustom Motorsports (link in parts sources from main page) it about $100, I got a drop in K&N, about $50.

Although there have been endless flamewars about which is better, the consensus (sp?) seems to be KKM = + 7-10 hp, K&N = + 3-5 hp.

I have an KKM Intake I like it alot. And it makes more of a sucking noise when I take off but it does whistle a lil bit.

dare to be different...get a monster flow filter....great wooshing sound when it inhales and also has noticable power gain...that 7-10 hp sounds a bit high to me....

as far as the panel filter goes i haven't tried one on the tour but my girlfriends brother just gave her his old panel filter (k&n) out of his sentra se-r....she has an altima....i haven't driven it yet adn when i rode i didn't feel much difference from the passenger seat....open element will definitely give u the most improvement imo

95 contour se...dark blue...monsterflow air filter...remanuf atx...wiring harness recall or bust!!!96k miles...motorcraft awsf32pp plugs & red ford racing 9mm wires...kvr black plated cross-drilled rotors & carbon fiber pads...currently undergoing renovation...excuse our dust!!!
are my dodgers for real????

I dyno'ed with a K&N drop in and put out 167.8 and 152.6.....So i took the K&N out of the plastic cover and mounted it to the intake like a KKM and put down 175.6 and 156.1 So whats your answer to that?

IMO any open air filter is better

For some of us in HOT climates, like Florida, it doesn't make much sence to get an open air filter 'cause of the heat. K&N is the way to go. That is just my opinion.

In warmer climates, I don't think open air filters are bad. More air in the engine is more air in the engine. Provided you have a way to get all that extra air out of the engine, it's the way to go. My car put down 175 hp (exact numbers in the sig) and that's with a dirty KKM and no res. Slims dyno's show that he has air flow out (sho shop y, etc.) but not air in....taking off his whole air filter assy. he laid down 180. Proof is in the pudding, I was there.

Gdub, I don't get the whole "eat me" comment either...are you stupid or just a d1 ck?? Or a good combination of the two??? confused
