I bought the 3L valves but not the locks/seals. Do I get the 3L locks and seals or will 2.5 ones work? I want to replace the springs also and I saw the ST220 spring part number. Is this spring required or just prefered when putting the 3L valves in? Anything else I need to order to make the 3L valves work?

All the stem seals, keepers, springs, spring-seats and/or caps will work from your 2.5. The valve-keepers are good quality metal and should be no trouble using them.

Do you really want to reuse valve stem seals?

No, you shouldn't use the seals after they cut in the new seats bacause the guides for the cutter put a ton of wear on them. Also, the heat that the shop may use to pull out the old exhaust seat to replace it with the 3L one can damage the seals. For around $40 plus labor, it's a good investment against losing oil on a newly rebuilt engine.

What about the ST220 springs in the parts number section. Are they any better than stock or should I just use new stock parts?

NO. I didn't mean that the seals should be re-used, only that they are compatible and that he could buy them for 2.5L or 3L.

I would re-use the keepers and springs and stuff.

Sorry about that.
