Well its a bit off the subject, seeing that its a 97 GMC Safari and all, but one of our work vans has 426,000 miles on it and is still runnin' the original trans, no BS
I'm in charge of preventative maintence and do a trans service every 30K. I'll do a complete fluid exchange, drive 30K and then just replace the filter, gasket and replace about 4 quarts and then drive another 30K and so and so forth. PREVENTATIVE MAINTENCE & a good trans cooler is the key
