If somebody did mass-market a tire product that eats tires, it wouldn't be the first time. For instance, there's a liquid puncture seal product called Slime or something like that -- it's green, has little white fibers in it, and does a marvelous job of stopping leaks quickly. But I soon learned not to put it in my bicycle tires: any inner tube with that stuff in it would split wide open a few months later. Yet after ten more years the stuff is still being sold.
