Purchased a 1998 Silver SVT Contour that I found sitting at the back of the lot at Campbell Ford in Ottawa. If it belonged to anyone on here would appreciate knowing if it has hand any major problems. It has 110k however the OD reads 83k. I was out shopping for a used Mustang GT or Cobra and decided I would go with a car I could drive in the winter as well and put off a Cobra purchase for another year. Anyway, after reading this site some more I am a bit worried about the trans, but do not really want to pay $1200 for a 2 year extended warranty. Am I nuts to go without it? I usually do all my own repair work and I have a well stocked garage (although I really do not want to replace the trans ). I plan to put some Redline in it first thing and go from there. Thanks. Greg.

I'm just guessing but I do think it belonged to some one here. Wait to hear if that is the case. They may be able to better tell you if you may need a Warranty. Personally I find it well worth while to buy a car with it as it makes for some peace of mind. Granted it tends to slow me down from driving more then I need to.

Nope, Silver Frost. We ran into each other at Campbell Ford one night. I actually saw it at the lot on Monday night when I went to do a quick head count on 2002 SVT Foci (by the way, around 5 left as far as I could tell) because I have been having thoughts similar to Ray's

It was his: Home with me now I think there were 2 2002 and 3 or so 2003 SVT Focus when I was there, along with about 6 Lightenings and 2 Convertible Cobra's. Which I really do not understand why the dealers seem to stock so many convertible Mustangs (Cobra or otherwise) in Ottawa.
