I just bought a '96 Contour SE. The dealer informed me the Traction Control switch (on the dash) was being replaced. I just had the switch replaced last night and I'm still seeing the Traction Control and ABS lights come on shortly after starting the car. Does anybody have any ideas as to why this isn't working?

There is a post somewhere about those two lights staying on when the car is wet or when you first start it... do a search and see what you can find. I have that problem sometimes but it goes away and causes no damage that I know of... - JOE

both lights should come on when you start the car, this is a self chack and then they should turn off. I beleive if they stay on it means there is a problem with the system and the computer disabled it. sometimes when it is really wet the lights will come on in my car, I think it is some bad wiring someplace, or the plugs, normally a restart of the car makes the lights go out. I have notice no ill effects of this either
