Hi, I'm new to this forum, and I have a whole bunch of questions for anyone who would like to answer them. I have a 1997 Contour Sport with about 60,000 miles on it. I have had it for about two years. I have only done some light work on other cars, mainly race cars, and I am not real familiar with my own Contour. I want to make it look and drive a lot better, but I have no idea of what to do. Do you guys have any ideas for a beginner to make his car look better. I really want to lower it because I hate how high it rides, and I also want to get a spoiler and also make the inside look better. What should I do? I really have no ideas, but after looking at all of your cars, I want mine to look good too. Help Please?

Welcome, all the info. you want is right hear. Look in the forums section under suspension, tons of options. I'm new here myself, I spend a ton of time reading/learning in the forums section. You'll find very helpful information based on experience, what things cost, where to get them, installation tips ... EVERYTHING! Enjoy.

just promise me, no huge spoiler. If you want go to http://www.batinc.net and check out their stuff on the contour. Lots of cool stuff. Great suspension stuff. (you will need acrobat reader to look at the stuff). If you want some new guages, I believe http://www.importintelligence.com has some guage covers for tour (short for contour). Umm, as for body kits you might want to look into a pre98 body kit under the Group buy section http://www.contour.org/ubbthreads/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=groupbuy they will have some pretty cool bumpers. But much reading is to be done just to figure out what they are. Also, there is a pre98 Carbon Fiber hood in the works. You can also change out the LEDs in your car from the ugly green color to red, white, or blue in another group buy. If you wanna know more IM me, I am doing that GB (group buy). I know there may be a new GB starting for Front Lights and Tail Lights for the pre98 tours. I am looking more into the developement of these. You can get head light covers here http://spoilers4less.com/headligcov10.html
or even some decals, CEG (contour enthusiasts Group) people will probably make fun of you if you put to many on, or any tacky looking ones http://www.decalkits.com/cgi-bin/hugedecalkits.cgi?file=CONTOUR.jpg&decals=decalkits/ford. You can also find stuff for under the hood here click me
some more springs can be found here right here

You can also go check out rims for your car. link 1, link 2, Link 3 are good places to find tires/rims. Contour Stock tire size for your car is 205/60R15. You can check here to check the tire sizes and how much it will through your speedometer off.

There is many more. but I help this helps you figure out what you wanna do with your car. If you drop into the different sections you can learn about contour forced induction, 3L engine swaps, automatic to manual converting. Suspension, Asthetics, Exhuast, the V6 Duretec, and the 4 cyc Zetec, also the SVT Contour. So much to learn. I learn more and more everday.
