I had NO problem when I was running the 9005 Silverstars in my ride, noone flashed me or anything The Silverstars are $20.00 a piece at our local Autozone and come as single bulbs, not a twin pack I can't believe this post has so many people questioning how good these lights look because for $50.00 its quite an upgrade and as far as using the 9006's instead of the 9005 Silverstars, why in the world would you do that

Maybe somethings up with my reflectors on the stock headlight housings, but that's what the beam pattern (if you would like to call it that) looked like. Yes, there is more light, but it is very unfocused and VERY scattered!! I put my 5100k 9006 bulbs back in, and decided that I am quite happy with those (and the 885 fog upgrade).
My beam isn't scattered at all.
Maybe you didn't have the bulb seated properly. That will cause the beam to be way off.

Hmmmm.....maybe I should check the bulb "seating"....Also, I'm not "picking" on the Silverstars, i was making a blanket comment on the 9005's in general. Silverstars are a great product and have a great reputation, so chill.....

Was there any statement in my post where I wasn't chilling?

"Chillin' like gilligan stranded on an island" geez, am I making myself sound old or what.... My apologies....the freakin' bulb had actually popped out of the headlight assembly, which (as one person figured) caused that wacky "scatter" pattern. The light is definitely brighter!!!

The difference is amazing and you WILL NOT blind any oncoming drives, unless your headlights aren't aligned properly, so don't let someone tell you otherwise This is the best $40.00 you can spend because these lights put out a bright, white light and don't let the light blue/purple color of bulb fool you, they're really, really white
I did the SilverStar 9005's in the low socket swap today. Besides filing the tabs inside the plug, I also had to take a chip out of the skinny leg of the part that mates to the housing. It was just different enough that I couldn't get the bulb to pop in. Once in, all good. The light output is amazing. I was hoping for a more white color. I wouldn't even call 'em white really. They look pretty yellow to me. They match the stock brights / fogs perfectly color wise. The light output is a whole 'nother deal. The beam pattern on the ground is much more HID like. Definately worth the money.
I prefer the blue / purple hue of the Audi HIDs (7500-8000k I believe). I may bite the bullet and convert the low beams to HID one of these days. Right now I'm deciding whether to ditch my 'Eurolite' 9007's in the Mustang in favor of a set of the SilverStars.

Sharper razor.
Seriously, I used an Exacto knife with a fresh blade and whittled the tab away in 5 seconds flat for each bulb. IT might take a few seconds more with the razor blade cause its bigger.
