Hello everyone. I searched through the numerous postings on the P1131 error code, however, didn't see any unique to my situation.
I have a 98 SVT has had the 1131 error code off an on for about a year now. After getting the code scanned at Autozone the first time, the light went out a few days later, so I didn't worry about it. Then about 2 months ago, it came back on again for good. I have replaced the bank 1 upper 02 sensor about two weeks ago with a Bosch OEM sensor. The engine light went off eventually after a couple of "around the town" drives. I then went on a 400+ mile trip and the light stayed off. After returning home, the wife took the car around town, and the light came back on! I haven't verified that the code is an 1131 yet, but I suspect it will be.
My question is, what would cause the 02 sensor to go out so quickly? Thanks for any tips.
