I first ran into this problem about a year ago. Originally, it would show up after a high g turn when the fuel tank was at 1/8th or so. I've tried to avoid the issue by filling the tank before it got that low, but now it will happen at 1/2 tank and below, getting progressively worse as the tank gets lower. I even had a frightning experience when I took a curved onramp to a freeway at modest speeds, accelerated in a straight line on to the freeway, and had the engine start cutting out, then sputter at 40 mph to the next offramp. Fortunately there was a gas station at the offramp, and after a fill up all went well again. My '99 SE now has 73K miles, so I'm going to bend over and get the fuel pump replaced. I'll post the results after I have it done.
