how to rob came out in '99 and it wasn't until then that he had even an OUNCE of buzz in the underground. and most people were hating on him at that point. it wasn't until he hit the mix tape circuit with fire that internet heads and new york kids started catching on and showing love. everyone followed after that.

YES! I will admit to not being too smart on a lot of new hip-hop, but that has to be the best damn hip-hop album ever, IMHO.
BTW, how about going to where it all really started and listen to the masters whose groves have been so over-sampled it ain't funny, like James Brown, and some Parliment/Funkadelic? That sheeit is still something to get you going!

There were several songs Hector (LoCoZ2) recommended to me recently. Three that were AWESOME to drive to: Snoop "Beautiful" WuTang "Gravel Pitt" Redman "Let's Get Dirty" (good bass in that song)

There is so much I can say about the listed tracks I just want to cry! -The whole SOM '93 til Infinity disc is superb. Period. -Outkast "Benz or Bimmer" is on some hard to find sh!t. (New Jersey Drive Vol. 1 soundtrack. -Again, any Del track from No Need for Alarm disc is on point. -Camp Lo??? all I can say is DAAAAMMMMM!. -ANY De La song gets serious play. -Mass Appeal is my favorite Gangstarr song. Primo's scratched hooks are simple, yet insane. -etc...
Check the Hieroglyphics disc "Third Eye Vision" for some good "tunes." www.hieroglyphics.com
