Justin Rempe whined:
It's up to people like us to educate the people who don't know about cars, not just bash them for their lack of knowledge.
I'm all for educating those who are educatable, but there are times when you really have to take to heart the old cliché about trying to teach a pig to sing.  Someone who will carelessly allow his car to run almost dry of oil is not ever going to learn to properly respect and care for a fine car.  Such as that is not fit to own or to drive a Ford.

A car such as a Contour SVT (or any Ford for that matter) deserves an owner who will properly maintain and care for it; not some idiot who will quickly trash it through grotesque abuse and neglect.  That's what Hyundais, Daewoos, Toyotas, Nissans, and Hondas are for.

Moonlight Blue 1996 Mercury Mystique GS , Zetec engine, ATX.  No mods. (Well, OK, one mod.  Before I got rid of my previous car, a 1994 Tempo, I swapped radios.  I liked the Tempo's radio better.  That counts as a mod, doesn't it?  I also kept one of my Tempo's wheels to use as a spare.  I hate those stupid ?compact? spares that come with modern cars.  Does this count as a mod?  If so, I guess I have two mods.  Replaced burned/melted blower switch and connector on 19 February 2002 with a 1P3T toggle switch from Marvac and a Molex connector from Rat Shack; I guess this now makes three mods.)
