you should really was your car by hand.. I took it to those 2 dollar washes and they just scratched my car all up... I use Eagle One car wash with maguiar's.. anything maguiar's is the best you can buy.. beautiful stuff.. I just recently used maguiar's gold wax.. turned out shiny like a mirror.. also you can use their tire spray as well..

just my 2 pennies

I agree, wash by hand. I use the Absorber to dry the car, it works great.
Meguires is great stuff, clay bar, Quick Detailer, wax, and so on.

I used Meguiar's for 10+ years. Tried Zaino and I'm sorry, but I'm never going back.
Zaino lasts longer, it's easier to use, etc. Hand's down better. I have "converted" 8+ people to Zaino.

Ask anyone in CAP CEG for firsthand testimonials.
LoudandQuick felt my car after 5 months of no wash, no wax and after a wash and Zaino, felt like glass.

That aside, if you're serious about taking care of your car, here's a good basic shopping list:

~Microfiber wash mitt $5
~basic wash mitt for wheels only $3
~bucket $1
~Clay bar $15 (THE BEST investment you will make)
~Absorber $10
~Insert your choice of wax and soap $50-$60

BTW, if you or anyone wants my Meguiar's, pay for shipping and it's yours.

PM me for more advice, tips, etc.
~Pete

This should go into the FAQ section:

After washing/drying the car...

1. clay bar to remove above surface contaminents
2. cleaner wax/body scrub or premium paint cleaner
3. #7 glaze which is polish
4. finishing wax- Gold Class/#26/premium paint protection

All the above products are Meguiars and can be bought anywhere or online at www.meguiars.com Also check out the new 2 step leather process, very nice IMO
