Ok, I got the 21mm rear sway bar from BAT for my 2000 SVT and backed-up the rear end up onto ramps. Disconnected the sway bar from the bushings/clamps and end-links, but then I could not for the life of me figure out how to get it out of there. There is no space between the gas tank and rear suspension beam. So how do you do it?

OK,

this is so easy. Having two people is easiest and removing both rear tires is neccessary.

No need to unbolt the gas tank either.

Once you unbolted the end links and the brackets/bushings with one of you laying underneath the car and the other pushing it from the wheel well.

Have your buddy start pushing while you underneath guide it out and around all the brackets.

You will need to have your buddy move the other side, and then pull it out as ou continue to guide it out.

Put you new one in the same manner. You will have to pushi it up into the space between the tank but should go in without a issue.

I have installed and uninstalled a bar approx. 5 times in this manner.

FWIW, when I installed my Aussie bar I disconnected the tank straps, but I had run the car so low on fuel it didnt even need a jack to hold it up. The stocker fell out and the Aussie bar took its place. Tightened everything down and drove to the gas station.

What is the largest diameter rear sway bar that you can put on without any modifications? I know the aussie bar you have to modify alittle right?

On your 97, you have a MTX right? so you have 19mm.

I would not go above a BAT 21mm if you do not want to box in your subframe.
