I've got a '97 SE with, apparently, gremlins in the electrial systems.
Symptoms:
1. Randomly, when the key is removed from the ignition and the door is opened, the "lights are on" chime will sound even if the lights are off. This goes away as soon as I start the car.
2. My Ford-installed Ford-branded alarm system installed by (guess who, Ford!) will leave the parking lights on, randomly, again, when they pulse on the second time after it's armed. I can turn them off by disarming and re-arming the system.
Any ideas? Anyone with similar woes? Are the problems related? Can someone possibly get me a wiring diagram of some sort for the alarm system? I'm comfortable with electronics, and if it's just a faulty connection or blown resistor or something, I don't want to have to pay Ford to have the work done.
