well for one..all these little [censored] civic dx's and hx's and lx's have less horsepower AND a smaller engine than the zetec in the first place...so if anyone were to "blow" their engine (don't know how that could happen in the first place) then it would be him.

civics aren't meant to be raced either...its a damn fuel economy car...so don't listen to any [censored] he ever tells you EVER EVER EVER again.

now mod your zetec and kick his a$$

the best part about having a Tour is people under estimate them.

well put our cars could easily take them in the turns, my girlfriend has a 2000 civic and I beat it every time, And it handles like crap!

Thanks for all the encouragement. Although he is still my freind and he knows more about cars then I do. But I will deffintally tell him the that my car is more euro.

He always brings up that hondas have higher rev limits where as american cars arnt ment to be reved that high. But what ever. He is a know-it-all but I would like to shut him up for once.

tell him american engines don't have to rev to 160000000 million rpms to get power. and u don't have to rev high to win a race. a dodge viper could race u'r friend and never go over 3000rpm and still KILL him.

Exactly. His engine may rev higher than yours, but it makes NO torque anywhere in the rev range.

whats his deal with american vs import cars?? what the hell do you think american cars are? big, fast, bulky speedsters

the Contour is not that but the Civic definitely isn't that...and so what if his car revs high? if hes got to damn there redline to see some power than its pointless.

i bet next hes gonna try to bring up hp/liter ratio

Actually your friend is an idiot. Old V8's reved really low but there is virtually no diffrence in the RPM range of 2.0 DOHC motors no matter who makes them. Its just were the ECU is set to limit the revs that is diffrence and chip will solve that. Ive seen Zetec rev up to 8,000 RPM's (a turbo version) The fact that he would say that makes me wonder how much he really knows about cars.

I agree w/ blury. I still think your friend is a moron and doesn't know as much about cars as he may like to think. Here, look at the red lines and tell me Zetecs aren't supposed to be modded



Oh, and in case he doesn't know what that is, it's a dyno plot. Some of us use those to tune our mods in. It's a different philosophy than taking the highest gain listed by a mod manufacturer and just adding it to your engine's HP and saying "I got 27HP from my intake, therefore my Civic has 98HP now!!!!".
