Well after seeing somebody's picture here of a Contour with the foglights on and nothing else, I had to figure it out. Not only did I do the original mod, but I got mine setup so that I can put my foglights on by themselves! I like it.

Yes you did. Mine are independant of the other lights now. I can pull my switch out while in the off position and have my fogs on WITHOUT having the parking lights on if desired. Thanks D Davis!

And there's a HowTo on somehow making this happen? Or am I just going to have to be relocated to a similar post...

How the hell did you manage that? I thought you can't turn on your fogs while the switch is in the off position. How did you rig the switch. I can't do it to mine.

Must have dremeled out the catch on the switch that prevents you from pulling it out while in the off position...
If you could pull it out in "OFF" then they would turn on I think...

It's not for the faint of heart as you need to dissasemble the headlight switch itself. There are two tabs inside on the piece that rotates within the housing. Simply clip these tabs off and voila! Now you still have to do the orginal fog light mod to make this work. Now, the switch can be pulled out farther than it used to go. It's about double the distance I think, but it doesn't hurt anything all the contacts still align as they should.

See, this is the crazy part that I first hinted at in the other thread. Way back in '98 when I first got my car and found CEG the HOWTO actually had an extra step on how to make it work this way. It wasn't much more difficult. Basically it involved wiring the relay slightly different, but no Dremeling or anything like that. I guess it was removed from the HOWTO because in many states it's illegal to run fogs by themselves. Like I said though, I don't remember the specifics.
And BTW, here's how mine work: switch off - fogs on; parking lamps on (switch in or out) - fogs on; headlights on, switch in - fogs off; headlights on, switch out - fogs on; highbeams on - fogs off
