I'M NEW HERE AND IF THERE IS A THREAD SOMEWHERE ON THIS SUBJECT I WANT TO APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE BECAUSE I COULDN'T FIND IT WHILE USING THE SEARCH FEATURE AND WOULD BE MUCH OBLIGED IF SOMEONE COULD DIRECT ME TO IT.
I'VE GOT A '99 SE AND AM INTERESTED IN MODIFYING THE INTAKE AND EXHAUST FOR STARTERS. AFTER LOOKING AROUND A BIT I FIND THAT THE ONLY INTAKES ARE FOR THE SVTs. IS THERE ANY AVAILABLE FOR THE NON SVTs AND IF SO WHICH ARE GOOD AND BAD? ALSO, AS FAR AS EXHAUST SYSTEMS GO FOR THE NON SVT - I'VE GOT THE SAME QUESTION - WHICH ARE GOOD/BAD AND ALSO, I DON'T WANT IT TO LOOK STUPID LIKE I'VE SEEN SOME PEOPLE'S SO WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE IN THAT AREA? ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

1) by writing in all CAP's is considered yelling...and for me is hard to read.

2) Check www.spmotorsports.com ....see with the 2.5 duratec is similar to the SVT and most stuff will fit with no problmes. the exahust systems they carry will fit too.

Contact them if you have any questions on there products too...there number is on the site.

DUDE TURN OFF THE CAPS!!!

All SVT Exhuast will fit your car with the installation of one hanger on the passenger side. That like two bucs. Most intakes will work too. Read around about which are best. This has been discussed in depth.

Try the parts sources on the main page for places with Contour specific parts.

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

I've got a pretty nice intake set-up(less than 1000 miles on it), that I would sell to you off my old car, and a new MAF too. PM me if your interested.

Good info on SVT and regular intakes in the How-to's (Almost the same...) Check some of the other FAQs and how-to's for other details.

Enjoy and welcome to the sight. (Hope you get your keyboard fixed soon )
