I think the planetary gearing on the Torsen's allows for a faster/stronger (tough to explain higher bias) transfer of power from the wheel that's gripping to the wheel that's slipping.
I didn't know about this, and alas, have a quaife I got brand new off of ebay for $540. It'll be installed this Friday. YEAH!
