VSS=Vehicle Speed Sensor, there is also a
TSS=Turbine shaft Speed Sensor.

I'd get 2nd opinion before agreeing to any major expense, particularly if car still driveable. Sometimes these elect. problems are transient and resetting computer is all that's necessary. Sensor wiring is subject to moisture, which can cause this type of transient problem.

Cost of installed rebuilds can vary depending on warranty and best to have rebuild provided by installer since labor is major expense if it has to come out to be fixed during warranty period.




Sorry about not giving the symptoms.
Here it goes. Was driving on highway car was running good
the o/d light started to flash.I checked the fluid was a little
low add fluid. Then when I go to leave the thing shifted very
slow after that it would shift just fine.
It would only shift slow at take off . I had the fluid
changed still doing it so I took it in yesterday to see if they
could get a code from it. Now last night when I was leaving
they grocery store and pull off from the stop light the thing
shifted just fine no problems at all.Then when I got to 45 mph
the light started flashing and then the shift problem stared again.
I just can not see the tranny being bad if the thing shifted
like nothing was wrong like that.
