Mine did the same thing when it was cold but like i said i had it the serpentine belt and water pump all changed. I honestly dont know what to tell ya to worry about it breaking anything I just know if the belt breaks it can cuase some major damage to the motor. So I personaly would get it fixed as soon as yoru cash flow allows.
