the motor started making a bad rattling noise that the dealer thought was a bad lower end. The noise is now a metal knocking noise the seems to come from the top. The rattling noise is still there. I have a 3L on the way to replace what was first thought to be a bad lower end. Do I need to change the cams now?

98 SE Sport resonators removed, cone filter, custom catback, Intrax springs, Comp Euro T/A. 3.0L here waiting to go in. Just bent ALL the intake valves.
