I met a dude today at the coffee shop who owns a CSVT. I told him about Contour.org and he said he'd stop by. He said he was having CEL trouble and it was spitting out a cam position sensor code. I didn't you know guys have cam position sensors. We just have crank position sensors. Anyway, Ford can't fix it and I told him that if anyone can, you fellas are the ones to ask. I hope he shows up.

I swear, I do more recruiting for this website than all of you fruitcakes combined.

Yep, I made it to forum. Thanks for the tip.

My SVT: Its a 98 SVT. 75k miles. Idle is fine.

The dealer in Grapevine changed out the cam positioning sensor, but said check engine light might come on as the code was intermittent prior to the sensor changeout. If light came back on, said that might be something in the wiring harness - it did about 75 miles later after the code reset. He even suggested that it might be EM interference from something.

Something to note: Prior to this last trip to dealer, In cold weather (about 2 months ago), the engine light was intermittent. It would come on right after a fill up then go out.

Accleration/response does seem effected with light on. Like I lost about 10 horses..

Anyone else seen this problem?

Before I got my cam sensor replaced (sudden and non-disapperaing CEL) I noticed a pretty signifigant drop in gas mileage. But then again I am a freak when it comes to keeping track of this.
