Yeah..West Nile Virus is getting to be a real problem down here in New Orleans. People are getting paranoid about mosquitoes. I don't know though. I'd just as soon wear OFF and kill the spider.

My luck I would wear Off, kill the spider and still get West Nile Virus. If it does good, let it be (even though it is probably already dead and flushed down the toilet).

Actually i used to play with these spiders when i was 3. They are 100% totally harmless. They don't even try to bite. I say let it live.. i hate mosquitos... they're an even bigger threat.
To be honest though, this spider has the most deadliest venom of all spiders (IIRC).. even more deadly than the black widow. It's just that it's very docile. And it's "teeth" are waaaaay to small to even affect a baby.

Are you talking about the black furry ones with the red spot on the back? Those are bad news. Used to find them all the time working in my yard. Or is it the yellow and black ones?
Totally different spider note, but the other day while doing a perimeter chack of my squadron, I found a huge female Black Widow just hanging out. I hope she said her prayers quick, cause she died really quick. Next thing to deal with soon is the Mojave Green rattle snakes out here in the desert. I saw one this morning but it was already dead and then I ran over it with my truck to make double sure. Supposedly, those snakes are the second deadliest snakes in the world.
