The SVT cams hold their TQ remarkably well for the added duration they give.
It's the small displacement, over square, DOHC V6 architechure that does not generate a high amount of TQ. However the immense other benefits (huge powerband, revability, redline, etc) far outweigh the few foot pounds a down grade in engine design would garner.
I'm not down playing the possibility Comp Cams will offer regrinds either. (No way they will offer new cams - just price the rare hollow billet camshaft blanks once! Then factor in the way they attach the lobes! $$$)
However at least one other company already offers regrinds. (Crower IIRC) I am sure others would as well if ONE supplied the profiles.
I still would love to see the ENTIRE power curve of a before and after dyno of whatever cam profile gets made verses the SVT cams.
