with the new duratec that are coming out some with variable timing (i belive jags and mazda) can our cars be outfitted to incorperate these changes? if not what would it take to put the newer engine in the tour... aka the new mazda six motor and just upgrade it a bit to make more power (aka intake, exaust, headwork, pistons and what not) that wa i can have my cake and eat it to...are there any major differences between the new mazda motors and our, mainly mounting points and the location of most major components

thanx for your time...

Completely different heads.
Not to mention PCM, harness, and other related components.

This has all been hashed over before.

Besides with the weak output of the new 6 engine you are much better off getting/or using the SVT cams and building your own 3L hybrid

I agree, definately do a hybrid..the 6 is most definately dissapointing compared to it's "current" competition.

Isn't it true that the SVT engine was designed to be fitted with Variable valve timing? If so lets petition Ford to come out with it as a retrofit upgrade.

I understand that the new six is weak in stock form but instead of doing the hybrid what about getting the mazda six motor and playing with that? will the svt cams fit or have the heads been so redesigned that thats not a possibilty either. the only reason i ask is if i build a 3 liter im going to do it right (rods and pistons up front) and if im going to buy pistons why not bump up the compression and tweak a few other things to pull the power up... i have just heard so mush about variable valve technology i was getting jealous.... i want my cake and to eat it too!!!!!
