3-4 games in and this is first post??? Anyway, I saw the NBA thread and decided a hockey one had to be above it. [Dangerfield] No respect.... [/Dangerfield]
Who's everyone going for, and how about some predictions? My initial pick for the Stanley Cup winner was Vancouver, and I still think that will happen if they get good goaltending from Cloutier the rest of the playoffs. Goaltending, talk about the number one factor this year!
GO LIGHTNING! GO WINGS! (you can still do it!)
P.S. No shaving til my teams are said and done for...

Yeah, I hate to say it, but I never saw this coming. Anaheim's play, especially Giguere's, has surprised the hell out of me. 140 shots in 3 games is definitely not a weak performance by Detroit though. Giguere has just played friggin awesome. I don't care if you're Muhammad Imar Bruce Lee, nothing seems to get past that guy...

Other key to the reason the Wings have sucked ass....Curtis Joseph
Although his save % and GAA look OK, his play has been anything but acceptable. In the playoffs, a team needs a goalie that they have confidence in so they can take chances and know that their goalie will bail them out every once in a while. He needs to come up with a few big saves, stop ALL easy shots (not happening so far), and handle the puck carefully (DEFINITELY not happening!)
Giguere has done that for Anaheim and you can see how confident and balls out they have played. Their forechecking has been amazing and the reason for a good majority of their goals!
IMHO, we'd (the wings that is) would be better off throwing Legace in for game 4, if for nothing else than giving the Ducks a new look. It is painfully obvious that they have figured out Cujo's weaknesses (which are too many to list here IMO). It is also painfully obvious that Detroit's D has absolutely no faith in Cujo, Lidstrom and Schneider have both been reluctant to join the rush and without our strong offensive defenseman, we are no better than any other team in the playoffs....offensively speaking.
OK, rant off, only for the reason that it is pissing me off to think about this series and how badly Detroit is getting handled

working at hockeytown..... I have the advantage of talking to Ryan lewis, not the CEGer, but Dave lewis's son. For those who dont know, dave lewis is head coach. Well, i talk to him and get as much inside info on whats goping on with the team, and from what i have heard, they are letting joseph play hurt. The worst injury for a goalie to have... Groin muscles.... I think they should definately throw legace in there, he is a great goalie, and they need to put someone in there that the ducks havent figured out.... And that was from the words of the coaches son!!!!

I hope that my Devils can make it past the first round they are up 3/1 and hopefully can pull it off. I am glad that Detroit is getting man handled by the Ducks, it just isn't right that Detroit can afford all this money for top players when other teams are struggling to break even I.E. Penguins, Ottawa(#1 team in the NHL and can't even sell out a Playoff game) and the Canadiens.
