I have this bad feeling that my water pump went last night. My tour has 110,000 miles and im not sure if it is the stock pump or not but all of a sudden the temperature shot up and past the red line! I am hoping it is just the pump and not the head gasket or something realy major.

Did you continue driving when the temp went that high?

I've read here that you can easily kill a good engine if you continue to drive with temps that high! eek
Most people suggest getting it towed home if the water pump goes! frown

It would be a good idea to get it towed to a garage to have it repaired!

The cost of the tow is a fraction of the cost of an engine! wink

just order the metal waterpump from BAT, it takes about an hour and a half (longer for me because the damn old gasket refused to come off without a razorblade) you can easily do it in the parking lot too. you'll save yourself the towing, and the $150+ in labor
