Hey everyone! I just recently signed up for CEG and thought I might go ahead and say hi. I am a student over at Seattle Pacific University right now. Saddly, I do not own a Contour but I wish I did. I was hoping I would be able to get one a couple months ago but my dad bought an Old's Achieva instead . Anyway, I hope I get to put some names with the Contours I see around town here. Later.

Welcome to the boards, I am not often up in that area, but you may see me sometimes near North Gate Mall. I get around with my car, anywhere from Olympia, to North Seattle and Redmond. I got a pre98 contour with chrome strip, sidemarkers, and mesh grilles in top and bottom front grille. And I will be lowering it soon, and hopefully putting some rims on.

I graduated from SPU in 2000! There are lots of Contours in the Puget Sound area, but not a lot of them are here on the boards. Are you planning on trying to get a Contour sometime?

Sweet. Yeah, I live over in Emerson Hall (the new dorm). I don't know if I mentioned it but I am a sophmore as well.

I will probably get one when I graduate in two years. I haven't decided yet though if I want to get any model and do a mondeo conversion on it or buy an SVT. If I get the SVT I would probably go for the 2000 or 2001 model. Anyway, for now I will be driving a '97 Pontiac Grand Prix. Which, while not a contour, is at least not an Old's Achieva

Well I'll solve one problem for you...you won't have to worry about a 2001 model since they didn't make one. In two years though you should be able to find a 2000 SVT Contour for a great price. In my book the 2000 is the way to go, there is just something about them, though I may be bias . But you may have a hard time finding a 2K SVTC, they only made 2150 of them and there doesn't seem to be very many in the Northwest.

Actually I do have a theory that the 2000 differentials aren't as week as the 98 and 99's. I still have yet to see a 2000 with a blown diff and I haven't heard of any Foci that have blown diffs either (note Focus did not start production until 2000, in the US anyway). Just a theory though, don't take it to heart. I'll stop babbling now.

It'll have to be a 2000, that was the last year.

Welcome, and I hope you find one!

My bad, I stand corrected on the year numbers. I thought 2000 was the last year but then I read somewhere about a 2001 model. I don't know, maybe I was reading about the mondeo.
