I have a 95 Contour w/ 2.0 liter manual trans. My car hesitates as I appraoach 35mph & 50 mph. My check engine light goes off when nearing 70 mph with a sudden drop in power & sputtering. Engine Mods include;Monster flow air filter w/ Ford probe after market air intake/ cat-back custom exhaust. I've tried reseting the computer with no improvement. Has any one have the same problem?

You need to find out why the light is going on/off and what the error code is. Try going to autozone etc and see if they will scan the computer for codes. The 95s have the older OBD-1 computer so you can put a jumper wire in and count the blinks of the CEL to get the code if you can't find a someone to scan the computer. (Try a search for jumper or paperclip in this forum)

This is what you want:
EEC-IV code scan

You don't need anything special to read the codes on a 95, just a meter. The Haynes manual descibes how to do it.
