Of course they think we are all morons, and that they can pull a fast one on us. Hell mine tells me that it isn't bad enuff to fix and the recall is good for another year. They all lie, they lie when you look at cars and they lie when you buy a car, so ofcourse they will when you have a problem.

No matter what the specs are for the dash seperation, get it replaced. A problem is a problem. End of story. It took a couple of weeks for the dealer I used to order a new model dash from Ford, then it only took them a couple of hours to actually get it installed. Insist on having it replaced REGARDLESS of what they reccommend. If you need more seperation before they will replace it, make more seperation.

What's the deal with this recall?? I have a 2000, is that under the recall?? If it is, I thought that the 2000 had no recalls on it! Any info would be cool...

screw valley ford I'm going somewhere else. They told me that they still arn't going to do it and if it happens later and it souldn't that it will cost me. Screw them I'm going someplace else.

does anyone have any good detailed pictures of the dash warpage? I'm not sure I know where it is.....

Guilty2 from what I was told by the service center after 3 different ones came out not knowing what to look for, is this. The back of the dash where the defroster vents are will slope up enuf you can see down into the dash. Also you know the black part that houses your gages comes way out at the top where it meets the dash top, they will pull apart. Mine is most noticable there. Don't know if I made sence or not. Hopefully someone will post a photo.

Just came back from the dealer. They changed the dashboard. Perfect fit, same color. Very neat job.
BTW, it's the dealer who brought to my attention the defect in the previous dashboard during a service visit and ordered a new one. I did'nt ask !! I did'nt even noticed it ...
I guess some of us are not as lucky with their dealers...
