I can say, that in all honesty, what with being a drive/axle shaft engineer who designs splines/shafts for a living, that those maels splines aren't even heat treated. STUPID! No matter what, unless both parts are heat treated, the harder one will eat the softer one. And just from looking at your pic, there is no way that the male spline is heat treated! 
Vortech are retarded. Whoever designed that shaft doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground! 
Spline depth is not the issue here........
