I know you guys are trolling around here so you should speak up.. Mike... The RSX is breaking 14.9's out of the box and guys N/A with about 3000 grand in the high 13's now. The K20A responds like crazy to mods.. CAI 19 hp gain! Thats nuts, and that's mag's test too. Dyno the cars.. How often is a stock SVT putting down 172 -178 at the wheels? Im not a hater just a realist. Throw the torque numbers at me, fine, Launch at 3500 rpms and see who has more wheel hop? Yes an SVT can beat an RSX-TS, but I wouldn't call it a drivers race, and I am not bench racing, i've owned and driven both...

What does acid and an import have in common?
They both cause users to hallucinate.

This is like the problem that plaque every single car forum. Everybody thinks their particular cars are faster than any other brand/model. Face it, the CDW-27's were not designed to be drag cars and you can't really get it to do too good in the 1320. I'd put my money on the GT-S if we're talking about stock vs. stock, unless the GT-S has some serious problem or has a bad driver. I mean seriously, with so many 3L Contours even with LSD running mid to high 14's in the 1320 how could you really think it can be too much of a competition against other cars that can turn low 14's with simple I/H/E mods? Just to stay on topic, remember we're talking about GT-S not GT. There are quite a bit of differences performance-wise between them. It's almost like comparing an SVT Contour with a Zetec Contour.

Nice.. now you are looking at the fact I drive an Import. Big freaking deal. I drive a domestic too, I've got a 87 Daytona Shelby Z 2.2 Turbo (NOT stock) that would eat alive any car on this board. Big deal. Fact is you got mostly stock SVT's running mid if not 15's on the track (depending on weather). Im not saying the RSX-TS is a better handling car out the box, close, but not as good as the SVT. Top speed is 140 supposedly, of course who knows, speedometers aren't that accurate after 130.. Im not hating, but the numbers don't lie.

SeR running 9 lbs of boost? Who knows? Is it tuned? What kind of tires is he running? On my shelby I ran 20 lbs of boost and all I did was spin the tires through 3rd gear. Better tires.. Dual stage boost control,50 shot of nitrous at 18 lbs of boost netted an 13.8 with a 1.9 60 ft. Too many variables when you are using a modded car... It can be done right or very very wrong

Who is this reply for? I cannot see how this one is a reply to my post, but it's replied to my post. You're confusing me.

May I jump in this?
I would like to add I have raced a Celica in my pre 98. I dont have a 2.5 engine but I have a custom turbo charger/intercooler w/timer that puts out enough hp's to out run a stock SVT off the line, anyways just last week me and a few buddies were racing on our own personal drag strip; nice road we found, good straight away. One of them own's the 2k1 celica gt-s you talk about, and from the start of the race I'm 2 car lengths ahead, by our 1/4 marker I'm 4 lengths ahead. Tell's yah alot, both cars have tons of performance and we're both good drivers.
Maybe this summer when i repair the SVT body I will take it to the strip and get some numbers, but till then I only estimate about 222hp...close to SVT Torque.

2k1 was a botch with the early fuel cut-off I believe. They get eaten alive all the time

The 2k and 2k1 did not have the early cut off - only the 2k2 and 2k3.
