First,
I get this weird ass humming noise on warmer days that comes from the engine compartment in the area of the Filter and Battery...first it sounded like it was the BAT filter itself and thnen it sounded like the freaking fuse box...its a sort of high pitch constant hum...any ideas what it is?
Second,
When i accelerate hard and my RPMs are i the 4500-5000 range my battery light flashes...alternator? battery? both? something else?

I'm not sure about the humming sound...do you have a V6? It could be the "moosing" sound that the Duratec is prone to. Check out the FAQ section, they have a fix for it.

As far as your battery light coming on, it's probably your alternator. Under heavy loads, (meaning the pulley spinning fast) if it's not putting out enough power it'll drain the battery (Because the battery has to make up for the loss of voltage/amperage). It's most likely the brushes in it. If you have an Advance auto (or Autozone; I believe Autozone does this too), you can have your alternator tested.

I had the same problem until I went to my dealer and he looked up a TSB on the "Moosing" noise. It was located in the same area as yours. Car would stall when outside temperature was hot. Total fix was about $200. Involved new plumbing from the air cleaner to the intake manifold. LOTS of new parts/hoses.
